Business model
Two revenue lines from software we own.
Curson Capital is a product company. We earn from a platform we built and operate ourselves, sold directly, with no billable hours and no physical goods in the model. This page sets out both revenue lines, the order we open them in, and exactly where we stand today.
Line one: proprietary trading
The platform trades our own capital, and the returns are the revenue.
This is the fastest line to open because it needs nothing from anyone else: no customers, no sales cycle, no licence. The platform already produces a daily book; what stands between that and revenue is a track record we would stake our own money on.
Why it is a real business and not a hobby. A systematic strategy that clears its own evaluation bar scales with capital rather than with headcount. The same daily cycle that runs today, on the same infrastructure, at the same cost, works on a larger balance. That is the whole appeal of building the machine first.
The gate. A live daily record long enough to survive the evaluation we describe on the platform page, including how the model behaves across different market regimes. Not a good quarter.
Line two: subscription access
Recurring revenue from research output we already produce.
Every morning the platform generates work that is valuable beyond our own account: scores across the US large-cap universe, the target book those scores imply, and the evaluation reports that show whether the model is still earning its place. Self-directed investors can subscribe to that output as a service.
Why the economics work. The output is a by-product of a cycle that runs anyway. Serving one more subscriber costs a fraction of a cent in compute and nothing in labour, so revenue scales while the cost base stays flat. It is a software margin on infrastructure we already pay for.
What it is not. Not advice, and not managing anyone's money — those are regulated activities requiring authorisation we do not hold and have not sought. Research output that a subscriber acts on themselves is a different product, and we will label it plainly, with the limitations of the method stated alongside anything we publish.
The gate. The same track record as line one, plus the reporting that lets a subscriber judge the process for themselves rather than take our word for it.
Where we stand today
Pre-revenue by design, and specific about it.
Curson Capital has not begun charging. There is no paid tier, no subscriber list and no public sign-up, because neither revenue line opens before the track record does. Execution runs in simulation while we build the track record that precedes launch.
Funding. Bootstrapped and founder-funded. No outside investment. The founders carry the running costs, which is why the platform was built on managed infrastructure: the cost base is a cloud bill and a data subscription, not a payroll.
Prices. None are set, and we do not publish numbers we have not decided. When subscription access opens, its terms and prices appear on this page and in the shipped log before anyone is charged.
What it costs to run
The cost base is fully digital and scales with data and compute, not with headcount.
| Cloud infrastructure | Google Cloud, in a single European region. Compute, managed databases, storage and monitoring for the platform, and the hosting for this website. |
|---|---|
| Market data | A commercial subscription for prices, corporate actions, dividends and fundamentals. Macro series come from a free public source. |
| Brokerage | An institutional brokerage connection. Commissions begin with the first capital traded. |
| Tooling | Commercial services for code hosting, continuous integration and alerting. Open-source software for everything else, which is why the tooling line is small. |
| People | Two founders, unpaid by the company. |
Our rule for this page
We would rather be specific than optimistic. What is running says running, what is planned says planned, and no date is given that we cannot keep. That is also how we intend to sell: a subscriber should be able to check our claims against the evidence we publish. Questions about the model reach both founders at office@cursoncapital.com.
Nothing on this page is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security or interest, a recommendation, or personalised investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Curson Capital is not a fund and holds no financial-services authorisation. No performance figures, live or simulated, are published on this site.
